Cholesterol maintance meds

I would check with the Dr for a better supply of meds, if that's not possible find a Canadian pharmacy online and cut your visits back to once a year and get back on your fresh food diet you described.

I was able to lower my numbers 11% by taking fiber supplement (psyllium husk based and take in water) as well as a supplement called phytomega. I don't eat a lot of junk and my wife is a healthy cook. I work at home so the urge to run by the drive thru is something I do not have to fight.

Also exercise.

$170 for the visit with blood work seems right for "someone who can afford it...."

I've had to change from Lantus at $675 to Novolin-n at $150 month only at Wallyworld.

Leave the chain drug store. You are getting ripped off. How do you think they can afford to offer $4 drugs.

A bottle of lantus is running right around 70-90 dollars wholesale, an independent pharmacy might charge you $110 per bottle cash. Much cheaper than $675.

Walmart has a novolin mix that is rebranded to a walmart brand, and it is about $25 per vial. Could talk to your doctor about changing therapy to reduce costs.

I was taking Crestor, it almost killed me, I got to where I could barely get out of the recliner and walk to the dinner table or bathroom after being a active person all my life until the Doctor put me on that junk, seriously I even had a Male opera singer singing songs in my head 24/7 and I've never listen to opera in my life ???? if it'd been George Straight then that would have been great but "opera".... no thanks, LOL. That is when I knew something was bad wrong and the Crestor was responsible because that was the only medicine I was taking, knowing something wasn't right I actually stopped on a bridge and threw them in the creek, told the Doctor what I did and he laughed then told me to try 1200 mg. fish-oil capsules, numbers have dropped big -time and a $6 bottle will supply me 3 1/2 months. Sitting in a damn chair all day like a zombie just ain't living in my opinion............I don't trust "any" medicine....at all and as for now I take zero meds and am back feeling great.

It's the Novolin-N (Wally Relion)I switched to 6 vials a month since I have to take two injections a day vs one on Lantus. $150 a month is better then $675. Forget preloaded pen's. Cost is even higher.

I have medicare and United Healthcare and my first office visit of the year is around $100. My doctor has worked with me to get generics and I only pay $10 for 3 month supply from Walmart. Wife pays $158 per month, but no generic available. After she loses weight she can cut down on the ingredients and it will be around $50.
I learned that doctors don't know much about the cost of meds. Your pharmacist can make recommendations.

hey guys, remember where Rx came from? Apothecaries used to make mixtures up for treating people way back when. Apothecaries also made poisons. Medicine is poison when not given correctly to the right person for the right ailment. Our bodies are different & react differently to the medicines....Be careful, and try to live an active lifestyle and avoid all the processed CRAP out there. All these companies are putting out CRAP food and this stuff kills your body so slowly your body slowly compensates until it can't anymore...Good luck OP

Nice. I was pretty spot on with my guess on price. I did an recent internship at walmart and remembered checking out their Novolin N.
