Classic wheel gun porn....

My new baby is on the way! Can't wait to get my hands on it!

Curious, though; Does anyone know how this gun happens to have the s/n on the side of the frame? My other -4's don't have that. I'm sure it's worth more this way! :becky:

I have a line on a -4 4" with box and papers. So far, his ransom is way too high for me.

I've submitted paperwork to Obama for a funding grant, but so far nothing has come through yet. I thought about asking the bank teller for it, but I don't think having the words "money" and "gun" on the same note is a such good idea.

Hey, I may know a little about the serial number being on the side of the frame. I have not researched it yet, but I believe that in 2004 and 2005 S&W made some stainless models that had the serial number etched on the side. I believe it was to assist armorers to verify the identity of the gun without taking off the grips to check the serial number of weapon. I have seen several, all were stainless, but the one's I saw were all .38/.357's. Frankly, I believe I read on the S&W forum about these sometime back. You might try and google S&W serial number on the side, and you may find the posts about them. From what I remember, the serial number on the side was not aftermarket, it was done by S&W.
That is not much to go on, but I believe I am correct.

Interesting! Obviously RARE and worth more than a Glock! Thanks for the tip!

Better not shoot that...........or you will never trade it! There is just something about 45acp in a wheel gun, just saying.

Still kicking myself for not buying one of these last spring from the old guy at the gun show. It was one of my cheapskate days but at $300 I should have known better.

Only thing I have shot in a .45acp is a governor so looking forward to it. Most likely that will happens especially since it's a 5in those are always well balanced.
