Well friends....I've been duped on the Culina grips I showed. I've been away from this hobby for a few years and just now getting back into it. I didnt recognize the signature on the back of them as not being authentic. When I got them in hand I immediately thought they were too lightweight. I emailed Culina asking them to identify the wood for me and they told me they were counterfeit.

I'm embarrassed that I was duped. Im disappointed in myself. But wanted to put it out there so no one else here makes the same mistake I did.

Here's a pair of authentic Culinas...they burn the signature into most of them except for wood that won't take a burn. Them they'll use a silver paint.

Thanks bud. They suspect these are Thai grips that someone has added the markings to pass off as Culinas.

In hand they are very lightweight. I suspected something was off when I got them in hand. That's why I asked Culina to identify the wood.

Just go to that rolling toolbox FULL of vintage S&W stocks you keep.....open the drawers and gaze upon the unbelievable stash you have....you'll immediately feel better! I remember when you posted that years ago. I still haven't gotten over it!

Ha! I remember that pic... Definitely wasn't mine. I think it was one of the old SWCA members that was personal friends with Roy Jinks.

He bought a huge stock pile of grips from the factory back in the 80s. Unbelievable collection.
