A little old, 1883 32 S&W, a little new 1991 Rossi 357, before Taurus got involved. The S&w was passed down through the family. My grandfather carried it every night working on the railroad.View attachment 1236388
My Grand Father used to tell me the same ghost story involving that S&W 32. He was walking home from his shift on the railroad. He had to make sure all the sections that change the track the train is supposed to take. He had an unusually long walk home and walked by a grave yard. He swore up and down this was true. I was inclined to believe because the man never commited a sin in his life. Not even on curse word. Anyway back to the story. He said he heard a dog barking on the cemetary and it was an angry bark and viscious sounding. Next he said the dog came out of the cemetary at him and he emptied the whole cylinder at the dog. He said he could see the bullets impacting through the dog. After he emptied the gun the dog ran back into the cemetary and everything returned to normal except for his stride of course. He told that story for years. Everytime I get that gun out and rub it down and I can see us sitting around the deer hunting camp fire telling us that story. Now I am not one to believe until I see but my dad told me he never told a lie in his life. He was a soft and gentle mannered man with a strict Christion moral code. Do I believe it you ask? Well with what my dad told me about his dad and the terrifying look on his face when he told the story I was inclined to beleive what he saw. Well, wether it's true or not it sure did make a great story out in woods at night sitting around the campfire. I love that have that piece of history from my grandfather to my father and then on to me. It brings back many deer camp memories. The kind where you could take old logging roads for miles back in the woods and never see another hunter. A great story to go with equally great gun.
