Cleveland Ford’s “Lifetime Powertrain Warranty” is a scam.

The only warranty worth buying these days is the manufacturer backed extended warranty. Ford will sell one to you that goes out to 10 years and 175K but it will cost you. With the newer vehicles and the cost to repair any of them these days, I usually buy the extended warranty before the initial period (3 year 36K) expires (if I have decided to keep it) and sell or trade it prior to the expiration of the extended warranty.
Sorry you had to find out those lifetime warranties advertised are pretty much a sales gimmick and nobody ever really qualifies for a repair. I made it a habit years ago to avoid any dealership that even advertised it.
Funny story, I was looking at a car for my daughter at Marietta Toyota and had them run the numbers, while looking at the numbers I noticed a $2500 charge under other.....when I asked what that was about they were like...well that is for the lifetime powertrain warranty, I said....I thought that was free with purchase, he said...oh no it's not free. I got up and I pointed to the poster hanging on the wall behind the guy that said...home of the free powertrain warranty, as I was walking out. I asked him how many people have they gotten with that scam over the years.
Anyone that has bought from there might not want to check their paperwork too close unless you want to get mad....

I recognize the Griswold Mobile. In all seriousness I would LOVE this same gen LTD or Marquis wagon or coupe. Cause you know....I love boxy vehicles AND wagons. It just don't get much better.
Sometimes ( actually MOST times) you just gotta get up and walk out. I'm driving the 19 Corolla my stepfather bought right before he died. He bought it from Atlanta Toyota and spoke to them in the phone and by email and agreed on price. When he got there they tried weaseling out of it.of course.He told them " I brought ONE check with me and I already wrote it out." They changed their attitude right quick.
Similar to your account they didn't like it since it basically turned the F&I man into a document filer. If you don't let the finance man get a chance to sell you some bull**** you don't need that lines HIS pockets OR a higher rate from another bank that again lines his pockets then he hates you. But **** him.
I like boxy. Never had a wagon. The nicest car we ever had was a 89 Crown Vic. That car had it all except a sunroof. Never wanted one. I have a Mercedes with one now. I've never even tried it. It's an old car, afraid it might not go back. I guess that Mercedes is pretty nice too. It's a 300D. Pretty much a work horse. I do like driving it

So many points to make here. In 07 I worked for an independent VW/Audi shop. That's when I learned that they all had a secret panel in front of the sunroof with like an Allan key to close it WHEN it failed. NOT if it failed but WHEN.
Anyway I love the boxy Fords from like 79 to around 83. The LTD the Fairmont and even the Granada. Yeah you laugh at that comment but try to find one now. And if you do you'll be shocked at the asking price.
As for Mercedes that was never my thing BUT there's one her in Perry that's a 300D WAGON that I would definitely do crime for. Not as cool as a Volvo 240 or 740 wagon but still worth it.
Thieves.....Toyotas are great vehicles. But they have some of the most aggressive sales people anywhere
