Cleveland Ford’s “Lifetime Powertrain Warranty” is a scam.

There's a 1500 short bed in the yard across the street from me that's maybe 8 to 10 years old. It ain't moved in about two years. Me and the guy who lives next to them were talking and he said "Yeah it's got that damn 10 speed transmission." WTF!?
Does nobody know how to build automatic transmissions anymore? Worse yet they don't even make manual transmissions anymore. At least when my wife processed new Subarus at the port they STILL offered every single model with a manual. Now you might have to order it and actually wait for it to come from Japan but they could still be had as late as 2019.
I believe the only Subaru models you can still get with the manual is the WRX and BRZ. (In the US anyway)

On all these high priced vehicles the best thing to do is buy an extended warranty. Ones offered by the manufacturers. One system can cost 10,000 grand to fix and if you are over the 32,000 mile factory warranty then you are screwed. Some dealerships will negotiate warranty pricing. If they don't go to the next. If it's nothing but a power train warranty get it. This advice is coming from a former car salesman and fianance manager. Many people say 20 bucks a month is too much. These days that a pizza and 6 pack of coke. All this 8 speed transmissions and complicated systems on new vehicles are extremely complex and very costly to repair. On a import truck from Japan maybe not but for domestic auto you are rolling the dice. I like the 5 year 100,000 mile power train warranty or bumper to bumper warranty. Now that you have experienced a major catastrophic failure I bet you wish you bought one don't ya? You will be lucky to get out this for 5,000 grand. Even when I sold cars I always opted for the extended warranty even though I know how to repair them.

I enjoyed reading that list............. Guess we will keep the (nicen) NISIAN Frontier 4 cylinder 5 speed A"C model with roll up windows and Pusch down locks 2007 model with 112.000 on it

Another money pit. Every Caddy I've seen in the last 40yrs has been a money pit. I was given the Mercedes. I still have $11-12k in it.......At least over the last 6yrs
Years ago I wanted that last gen El Dorado but I knew for certain I didn't want one with the turd engine known as the Northstar. Eventually I figured out they couldn't be had any other way. Damn shame too cause it was one of the best looking cars of the 90s.

The 80s where good lookin. But front wheel drive and Northstar

Nothing at all wrong with manual locks and windows. I can tell you from my auto salvage days that there ain't no pain in the ass quite like trying to pull window motors and regulators from door shells. There's enough room in those doors for that stuff but NOT enough for it along with your hands and tools.

I had a 95 Touring Coupe as a demo when I worked at a GMC,Caddy, Pontiac lot in 95. Pearl white with white leather... Had my Ray Ban aviators, my Hilfiger dress shirts and Limbaugh ties. You couldn't tell ME ****. Then they sent my damn Eldo to auction and put me in a damn Gran Prix. :grey:

Even the manual windows are a bear. I'm not a contortionist, never was
