Cleveland Ford’s “Lifetime Powertrain Warranty” is a scam.

I ain't a GM fan by far but we HAD an old 01ish Trailblazer inline 6 2WD a few years ago. It had belonged to a guy who thought he was a pool man so the rear carpet was completely bleached out from pool chemicals. And the smell was STRONG for a while. But man it was a comfortable easy driving SUV. I got the oil changed at a local tire shop and the tech said "I can't believe it runs THIS good with so many oil leaks." I mean just pick a spot and it was leaking from the valve cover to the timing cover to the rear main seal. Eventually it leaked onto the exhaust while my wife's niece was Door Dashing in it. It started an engine fire and she got out walked away and left it . Didn't even call to tell us.
The same day the title showed up in the mail there was a bill from the towing company that picked it up from the side of the road. Anyway I still dig the Trailblazer and would love to have the extended version with 4WD. There's one for sale locally on here probably 2WD but that's the same dude that stood me up on a Kel Tec deal recently. So...

I’ve had good luck with 3rd party warranties. You’ve got to read and understand every detail of it before purchasing. I’ve had 2 transmissions covered in the past 5 years. 2016 and 2020 Silverados. These 8 & 10 speed transmissions suck!
Fact, the ole 4 speeds ain't much better. The best overdrive autos I've seen are the Allison and Toyota

It has to be 25 years old I THINK. Could be 20 but I think it's 25. When I worked at the port in Brunswick there was a small fenced off very secure lot that belong to the Customs Service. That's where all the privately imported stuff sat waiting to be cleared and released. And that's where you would see all the cool old stuff that you hardly ever see running the roads. I have no idea what the fees much less literal shipping costs are involved.
I've wanted one of the mini trucks from Subaru, Suzuki etc for years. I don't think they're subject to the same age range laws since they're not street legal anyway.
It’s crazy I could drive to down in a golf cart but not in a mini truck.

My bosses some just got a ticket from Perry PD for not having his 6 seater big tire golf cart "Registered with the City of Perry." What a bunch of bureaucratic bull****. Just another revenue stream for a town that's already sticking it to it's residents at every turn.

I don’t know if we’re supposed to register golf carts here. Don’t own one. It is perfectly fine to ride a horse to town, from my observation, but I don’t have one of those either. I am not small towning right.

Yeah when they told me about his ticket I just laughed and said " You and your damn white folk problems."

Allison leads the pack by a long way.
1 word for caution on Allison transmissions. The new Allison in the 1500 baby Duramax Silverados is not an Allison transmission. From what I can tell, they have paid Allison to badge it for Chevrolet.

I will also add that I would not buy a new Ford or Chevy truck without an extended warranty. I usually add a 60 month 150k. Factory extended warranties are best but pricy. This joint venture Ford/Chevy transmission debacle has such a high failure rate that buy new without extended warranty is begging for an 8k repair bill.
