There are 2 side's to every story. The only dealings I have had with them have been real good. But I didnt bring my dog in either.

Odd ball question, but if you have PTSD...are you even allowed to own a gun? Thought that is a medical condition that could bar ownership.

Or at least, I've seen people with their (non-service) dogs in both places without any issue.

Yes, you can still own a gun. A grown man should be responsible for knowing that he isn't ok to be near firearms... The government shouldn't be the one to regulate it.
