CMP 1911 sales reopen to all!

I have two of the 1911’s. Must have gotten lucky with mine, both are VG+ condition
Me too. I have two field grades from the early rounds - a Colt and a Remington Rand. Lots of original parts, other milsurp parts, in excellent condition. They both meet the service grade criteria IMO. I wouldn't hesitate to get another.

The Garands on the other hand... I would not trust luck of the draw on a mail order right now. I would only get one in person.

Looks like you did well

I did not realize you could get a second one. I got one in round 2. Very pleased but would love to get a second one. Do I just need to fill out all the paperwork and submit again to get a second one?

Rack Grade $1100. Pistol will exhibit rust, pitting, and wear on exterior surfaces and friction surfaces. Grips may be incomplete and exhibit cracks. Pistol requires minor work to return to issuable condition but is functional. Pistols may contain commercial parts.

If I were selling a pos like that. I would price it out at $500….needs work. But hey it’s official government and history! That makes it worth 2x!

I'm pleased with my "POS" rack grade from round three. They're very conservative with their grading, judging by the examples I've seen posted online. Basically the exact opposite of RTI.

There are a couple of qualifications, nothing too bad. Qualify before you go, fill out your paperwork at home and print it off. You can purchase by mail but you don’t get to pick through what is available.

It's fun just to inspect each rifle and pick out YOURS. :thumb:

Until the next time.....
Army only has so many 1911s to release.

For me it's the same as the Deuce and halfs that the Army surplussed out 15+ years ago.

They were plentiful and cheap for a few years, until the Army had auctioned them all off. Now they are selling for double, triple or more than those old prices. There aren't large numbers of trucks to be surplussed out anymore, so prices aren't going down.

For all you guys that keep talking about they're not worth the money because of the description have to understand they are underrating these guns by far I guess it's a CYA because they are much better than the description and I haven't seen one yet that could not be sold for $400-$500 more than what the CMP price is. Here is my field grade Remington Rand that's like new except for scuffs
