Over the last month, it has become more clear that CMP is close to running out of garands and is not expecting any foreign returns in any quantity for the future.

At the recent 1911 in-person sales, the CMP CEO said that their garand inventory is very low.

They are now building rack, field and service grade rifles on reclaimed/reactivated drill rifles. On June 14th, CMP changed their rifle description to indicate all rifles going forward will be built on reclaimed receivers. It is thought that they have 10,000 drill rifles to convert. This is the bottom of the barrel.

CMP is introducing garands on newly made receivers to have something to sell in the future.

I bought in Feb 2023 a service grade garand that was 3 parts short of being an all correct rifle. Those days are gone now.

Two weeks ago, I bought a 7.62 Navy converted garand. It is probably unfired after conversion. This is the last grade of garand that is in its original state that they have and probably the last I buy from them.

I wonder how many Garands are still in the hands of foreign countries and politics has kept them from being repatriated. That includes other weapons as well.
