Friggin media... (Get out your popcorn)

CNN is reporting gun background checks are up 42% since the shooting. Is that a bad thing? People are wising up that you may have to protect yourself.

Rhonda Fields (D) Colorado State House is on there saying that Colorado Congress woman Diana Degette has already "called for the ban of high capacity clips. And those are just some measures we can do to kinda curtail the violence . As you can see, there is no need for someone to have this magazine/clip that allows them to do 60 rounds of fireing of bullets per minute. There is just no need, I think we should ban that". (yes I replayed it until I got everyword she said so you could hear the stupidity..)

I'm not getting into the "old" clip vs magazine debate, but I did not know that clips/magazines controlled your rate of fire!!! She should not be able to ban something she knows nothing about.......

Then the CNN anhcor woman went on to say that 72% of Repulicans thought it was more important to protect gun ownership than to control guns vs 27% of Democrats. She then asked Rhonda Fields why her party hasn't done more to legislate guns because the assult weapons ban expired in 2004.

So, if the guy would have just went in with a bag of loaded 10rd/1911's would her highness be ok with that since it wasn't an AR? I friggin' doubt she even thought that far ahead.

Most decent people just want to protect their families and themselves from those who just want to see the world burn. CNN host stupid people because it's a stupid media network.

I feel a little better now...Rant over...

10 rounds is ok, 11 rounds you're a madman.

The best thing to do right now is not get into a debate with anyone. Let this ****er cool down.

If you remember people were calling for gun control after the school shooting where the boy had a Ruger MarkIII/22/45 style handgun that was 22lr and only 10 rounds. its just an excuse each time.

I happened to see that story. Made me sick what that woman was saying about "clips".

On the other hand, it looks like folks are finally taking their own safety into their own hands. What a concept!

Just another part of the AWB that doesn't make much sense. It also tagged bayonet lugs as an "assault" feature, which, in combination with any of the other prohibited parts (11+ rd mags, foldable or telescoping stock, foregrips) would subject a gun to the ban. The last time I saw someone with a bayo fixed was on a Mosin Nagant at the range, and I'm pretty sure the bayo was heavy enough to make the rifle less capable of an Aurora-style assault.

It has been interesting watching the news the past week, they are wrestling with themselves. On the one hand they have their own socialist agenda they desperately want to push and on the other hand they realize their message is not the popular one so it is with their nose plugged that they report how well gun sales are doing "in light of that horrific mass shooting in Colorado". You could hear the frustration in Diane Sawyer's voice last night when she had to report on how gun sales were up in Co. :)
