CNN reporting...Colorado gun background checks up 42%

Just a thought....magazine capacity absolutely does affect rate of fire. Less reloading = faster rate of fire.

So. Is rate of fire of semi auto's regulated by the government? Are you suggesting that not having to put a different mag into a gun would cause someone to be more inclined to commit murder?
Is increased rate of fire neccesarily tied to murder rate? If it were, snipers would use a GE minigun.

I'm not suggesting anything. I'm simply pointing out that rate of fire is a function of rounds fired over time. One can fire more rounds over time with less time spent reloading. The OP stated otherwise.

My misunderstanding then.

Banning clips won't work anyway. Since the last ban (that has since expired) people stocked up on pre-ban mag's. So, there are a ton of these out there that people still have access to. The only thing it would cause is a waist of time and money in the house and senate and a waist of money on the part of the gun shops having to get rid of them.

The house and senate are already waisting time and money...I guess they are just trying to impliment the second part.

It does seem that people are waking up to the fact that they are responsible for their safety and their families protection, hope that continues to be a growing trend. The aggravating part is the amount of lies, ignorance and misinformation coming out of the media. Bill O'reilly on Fox news went on and on last night and most of what he said was wrong, as usual he did not let his guest talk to correct him.

Well that's the whole point. It is always a one sided debate and when they do have someone on there that is a pro-gun advocate they make them out to be some kind of war mongering monster that promotes death and mayhem. Or some gun freak that has a stock pile of weapons waiting to start something. I own and collect guns because I enjoy shooting just like I collect coins, comics and yes, Star Trek memorabilia. Also, more and more liberal establishments are posting signs and rules preventing the carry of concealed weapons in there place of business. I just politely leave but before I do I tell them I will take my money and business elsewhere as well as several of my pro-gun friends that I will inform them of there anti-gun position. Allot of these shootings and robberies here and around Atlanta possibly could have been prevented if someone is packing. I'm just saying ya know.
