College Educated?

I left college just short of a degree in the early eighties and worked through the late nineties at good paying but labor intensive jobs. I then went to Tech School and got a diploma followed by college to finish up my Bachelor of Science. This turned out to be a good path for me because as my body was wearing down I was blessed with a position to use my acquired skills and education to lead others and not rely only on my physical strength. If I had not earned the degree I am sure this would not have been possible. So for you guys in your 30's it is not too late.

Graduated in Accounting... Earned my CPA certificate in Florida.... Getting ready to retire from a fortune 100 company with pension, 401(k) and other investments... Is this possible without a college degree? Maybe , but much more difficult....
Too many companies these days have so many candidates for every position, they need a way to reduce the number.... The quickest... No College degree, we don't talk to you.....

AA, I majored in chemistry!!! Been in business for along time,, never used what I studied for but, have used my Spanish I used.

It was worth it for me but back in my day, if you went to a state school you didn't have to mortgage your kids. My freshman 1st semester at Wisconsin, tuition, dorm and meal plan combined was $1284.00. Now-a-days, not so sure.

So I was just thinking how many people on here went to college and if it was worth it for you? I chose to not go and work my way up the ladder the hard way in sales. I make decent money but now at 37 years old I wish I would have got a better education.

I skipped college and just started going to work. Worked my way up in the company till I lost my leg/job at 28.
Going back to college now because the job I want to do now requires a degree.
I say if you can do what you want without a degree skip college, but if your dream job requires it then go.

People say I'm full of B.S., but I don't have one.
Started school back in the day and finished about 1 1/2 years, but cash in the pocket was more important than going to college.

Yes four year degree and yes its been worth it.
I worked two years after high school decided to work part time put myself through college.

I started the Fall after high school.... Partied my ass off for 2 years, had about a 2.0 average.... Realized this was not working.... Quit and joined the Air Force.... Straighten myself out.... had a good 4 years in USAF, came of and finished the rest or my college with very good grades... Would not have changed a thing....
