Yes 138. 6 numbersAre the first 3 digits of the serial number “138”? How many numbers are in the serial number?
It’s been refinished. The job was done poorly, and it’s incorrect. It’s parkerized, and the M1911 had a polished blue finish.
During the prep for refinishing, the corners and edges were rounded off, and a lot of the stampings on the slide have been obliterated.
On the left side of the slide, in the gap between the groups of writing, is supposed to be the Colt logo of a rearing horse with an arrow. Completely gone now.
Heavy-handed work.
The barrel is a commercial Colt barrel, and not a USGI M1911 barrel.

So it ain't worth much. Here’s a picture of a correct M1911, showing the correct finish, the condition of the markings on the slide, and the missing Colt logo I mentioned above.
The logos weren’t stamped as deeply as the other markings were, so you can see how it’s possible to completely remove it without removing all the other stamps.
