The other day i saw an older colt 38 snub nose at a store and the colt was up towards the hammer verses in the middle above the handle. The gun was in kind of rough condition, does anyone know what year that could have been? Not sure if it was a CTG serial number or not, did have pearl grips. Trying to learn more about the snake guns. The gun did have a funny shape cylinder release like the picture i attached. The colt symbol was where i put the little red mark. Gun was priced at 450, just wondering did i miss out on some rare gun? Sure someone will say yes that was one of a kind mis print lol. Thanks in advance, colts are like coins 🪙 to me i don’t know anything about them, but would like too

Only 1 shipped in 1964 with ivory grips, but it had gold medalian. The serial numbers minus the snake eyes in 2.5 barrel were I3620, I3620S2, But all pythons had ventilated barrel, and full underlug.

So they were definitely after market grips, was the colt closer to hammer back in 1960s. Thank you for your info.
