Concealed carry guns for your girl.

Following is JMO from what I've used.. FYI the LCP is easiest racking I have shot, but it's a micro-compact in .380.

The easiest racking and smoothest shooting 9mm compact I've shot is the Springfield XDE, is more comfortable than the XDS, CZ-P01 or Sig P938. However the XDE is a SA/DA with an external hammer (my preference). And it has a safety and decocker, so there are multiple carry choices, 'DA safety on or off' - 'SA safety on' - or 'un-chambered'. I'm leaving out 'SA safety off' as the SA trigger pull is fairly light for carry. As you can see I'm more of a SA/DA, 1911 type of user. The XDE is probably the ugliest looking gun I own, but my favorite.

Both 380s, but the Shield "EZ" and the Ruger LC-380 are both designed to rack easily. Put some good Gold Dot or Hornady in them and they are more than a match for a 38 snubby.

One other gun that has an amazingly light slide is the Ruger 9mm 1911 "lightweight Commander".

So what is your wife, GF, Daughter carrying on her person?

My Daughter is wanting to carry on school campus (yeah baby) never thought I’d say that....school campus ....thanks Gov Deal for not being a puss.

Anyways she’s looking for something ultra concealable but easy to rack and not a pile of crap.
I got her a sig p238 and she hates that it’s too small.

I let her carry my shield 9 and she’s loves it, shoots it well but has a really hard time racking it.
I’ve got her a Galco hybrid IWB belt holster for the shield.
It conceals well but she really wants something she can rack easier.
She knows that more shooting time will make the action easier but she wants to buy her own pistol and does NOT want a revolver .
This is where I need your suggestions.
Are the ladies in your lives happy with a nice 9mm semi auto that is easy to rack with decent concealability?
Yeah my Daughter is very petite and does not have a lot of grip strength like us big burly guys do.
Sorry revolver lovers .....she is very opposed to revolvers.
I know....I tried but you can’t tell a woman anything.

Just want to get some ideas before I take her to the shop to try out different models.

Darn I traded off sooo many cool small pistols over the years that she could have chosen from had I kept them.....can’t keep them all.
Does she not want to carry with one in the chamber? She probably won't have time to draw and load the weapon if she ever needs it, regardless of what she thinks she'll be able to do. I bet with some practice she'd love the shield.

OH goodness. I had not considered this.

Right.
I forgot to mention that.
I told her she would not have to worry about racking it if the carried it chambered but she said she’s not comfortable with that yet.
The shield is the non safety model also which is why I bought it for a ready to rock tool.
I understand where she’s coming from though as she has done her homework and researched a whole lotta information on newbie carrying, the laws, etc.
I may try to locate a lighter spring for the shield Andy see what that does and also see how it shoots.

My 5'3 120 pound Fiance carries a G42 for concealment purposes but loves shooting her G17. good training should be able to teach her to rack the weapon.

Have you checked out the Sig p938? It's virtually the same size as the 238 but in 9mm. My wife has the same issue racking the slide on most 9mm and up guns so I did some research on different carry pistols and it seems the 938 was easier to rack than many others. Off to the store we went to check them out and she was able to rack it no problem. Checked a couple other options just to be sure and the 938 was definitely easy enough for her to have no issue with compared to the others.
