Sent a comment. Will it do something? Maybe. Maybe not. It worked under Obama with green tip ammo and failed under Trump with bumpstocks, so who knows.
The fact that instead of the usual 90 days they have this set to end on Jan 1st says they are trying to push this through without a fuss, and if they get one they may very well fold, so it's worth trying.
The good thing is this won't stand up in court. Contrary to the title of this rule change, it's completely subjective, not objective. Under these 'guidelines' (not even official 'rules') you won't know if you have a legal 'pistol' or have made an illegal SBR unless the ATF gets a chance to examine it.
You can bet they will charge you if it turns out, in their opinion, you made an SBR. Yet the difference between walking away and going to jail is strictly based on the opinion of some faceless bureaucrat?

Seeing as I have no place to hunt and own 1 bolt action rifle and 4 ARs. However I would hunt if the opportunity came up. Not sure what you have against hunting. Fudds are the reason you're free.
There is no reason for a citizen to have a weapon with the ability to kill an entire city. So yep, I am a Fudd in that regard.
I agree but just to be clear to others the cut off date is Jan 4. I am not sure this is not just a scare tactic to make people afraid of owning a pistol with a brace. It already seems to be working.
