Everyone should own one gun in a caliber that - if you shoot it - will put whatever you shoot on its ass. The 308 will do that, so don't be upset that you're now shooting another caliber.

That said, there are lots of better options than a SCAR, depending on your use case.

Thinking about it a new caliber isnt new to me. I do have a PPK in .380 and a AK-47 variant..... they dont get shot much though lol

The reason I say that is that most people whose opinion I value who own a SCAR have said that the first thing they had to do to make it a good gun, was to spend a ****load of money on aftermarket parts.

Being something of a tightwad, that put me off the idea.

You did fine. And they are not heavy. The recoil is quite pleasant compared to rifles the same weight and even a fair amount more. Just get a quality optic or it will chew it up and spit it out.

Gas jets are must if going to run a can. They are cheap.

Meh I passed when I had the chance to buy one at like $1500. Expensive to shoot, can’t easily SBR it, running a can voids the warrantee, and now we’re gonna see even more expensive spare parts that are harder to get.

Yeah Ive seen something about a certain part being recommended and the need to tune it. What do you recommend?

I heard the Geissele trigger is a must upgrade and some gas part for suppression, not sure what else is needed or recommended

A lot of people like to replace the stock and the hand guard to something cooler/nicer/more ergo. but I'd shoot it first and see what you wanna change. plenty of aftermarket support.
