I'm sick of all the people strutting around, this is just the flu, this is nothing, etc etc. Talked to my wife about it, wanted to just go around like business as usual. Yes, if you're not in the dangerous age groups, YOU should be fine. It just seems to me it's everyones responsibility to slow the community transmission of this down, to give medical services the best chance to save the greatest number of people who do get struck down, and as much as is possible, to not get overwhelmed. Instead, many more will die.

So you're saying I shouldn't go to the Sip & Swine event up at Coolray Field with my son this afternoon?

What about shopping? Should we close all stores other than grocery stores?

How about churches, synagogues, and temples? Lots of people huggin' each other and shakin' hands at those places...

Not trying to be argumentative but where do you draw the line?

I guess if it spreads enough the government will draw the line for us.

I must say I am very concerned for my in-laws and their health. They're in the middle of the cross hairs of this disease.

According to the advice of the White House Corona Task Force this morning, unless you are young, isolation is the answer.

"
People who have underlying health conditions such as heart disease, kidney disease, or diabetes—particularly those who are elderly—should be cautious .....“It is a good time for any American who is elderly, by however they define it, and has a serious underlying health condition to think carefully about travel,”...

If you’re a person who is in that category: think twice, even before you get on a plane for a long trip, or you want to travel, or you want to go to a place that’s crowded where there may be people who are in fact, have an infection of any sort—that doesn’t necessarily have to be even coronavirus, it could be influenza or anything like that,”

Taking my son to state gymnastics competition this weekend. Talk about a flippin’ Petri dish. I certainly won’t be inviting the grandparents to come watch though. That’s why we have video recorders and face time.

I'm saying do what you can. Think about it. Give a **** about it. Maybe look outside of yourself and try an think about it from a wider perspective. Be thoughtful about it. It seems like you are.
I'm trying to do that, it seems a bit futile but whats the alternative?
Me an my wife support her Mother a lot, daily. She finished a round of chemo in December. She's doing better, but I hate to think what this would/will do to her. Selfishly I'd like a clean conscious if this gets to her, that we took it seriously and did what we could. Thats whats made me think we should all be trying to protect the older members of society by taking this seriously.

It is picking up speed quickly in the USA. This will be an interesting month.
