it is not bad. Only a hundred people a day are dying from it. No worries.
Tom-Tom has a traffic app. You can pull up foreign cities to see the level of congestion. Beijing was about 20% traffic as compared to a normal work day. And today is not a holiday there.
Very true. One of the things you can follow are the prices of gold and bitcoin. Both historically go up in value when **** is hitting the fan somewhere. The last week both have risen in price significantly. It's only a matter of time before the stock market reacts, because when precious metals are up, they usually go the opposite way.
And the economy is in for an awaking too, with everything that is sourced from China you can guarantee production will slow down if not come to a halt depending on how severe this thing gets over there. I know our company is feeling the effects now. A lot of our office production equipment is made there, and we've seen some huge constraints in the last month.
The reverse is worrisome, too. I dropped by Rome's new freestanding Dollar Tree to check it out. More than 50% of their food items are Chinese imports, and that's just what I looked at. It's likely higher. Even something simple like vitamin C tabs are imported from China. Dollar General and Family Dollar are not much better. I'm sticking to US brands where possible. I would not eat anything coming from China for a long time.
It's easy to infect some terrorists and send them out into the world.
Also, a lot of generic medicine is produced in China. As a minimum, this should all be a warning shot across the bow for the future. Who knows maybe next timr it won't be caused by a pandemic but by a military tactic.
America did it to its own people. Nothing is too sinister for any government. If it has power, it will use it.
