I think that's what you have to do in order to keep using the masks repeatedly. I've read where people have been testing this in InstaPots or canning pots, and it seems to be working.

Not sure, but I know these types of pots have racks so you're just steaming them. I read a post somewhere, forget at the moment, where someone tested it with no issues.
