dude should have just powered through. without physical barricades- that "checkpoint" is ****ing useless. he would have made it before they deployed tire strips or that van.
I would volunteer to be in the first vehicle for my family and take the tire strips, and let my family speed off to safety right behind me. Im sure thats not an uncommon feeling.

That is, if you dont have run flats, lol.

Don't have food or water supply for what maybe a week for everyone in the house, can't afford to miss work either, just your typical American even tho i know better

20lb bag of rice, 20lb of dried beans, chicken bullion, case of spam, a couple large oatmeal, powdered milk and some brown sugar. For every 2 people for 1 month. That and extra of your regular groceries. Don't think you will have to worry about water turning off. Easy peasy. Maybe some cornmeal for cornbread. And extra TP. Minimal cost just for piece of mind. All of that is cheap. So are canned soups and idohoan powdered mashed potatoes. Knorr sides are a dollar a piece like the potatoes. Doesn't take much to get all that and an extra load of your normal groceries.

I think that was a training drill

I have prepared as I normally would and do. Also have a procurement list if things seem to be getting worse here. Freeze dried food is going fast and all companies are having longer and longer ship times. If planning to order I'd do that sooner rather than later. Even my other family members are doing so for their households and they aren't the "be prepared" types. Which is great because I can't afford to be preparing for everyone I would want to.

We had a good run boys. It's time for the FEMA coffin.
