China has a population of 1.38 billion. That's 1 billion more than the US. Half of their population could die in this thing, and they would still have double ours. They live under they constant threat and fear of government reprisal for any dissent, and they just disappear when it happens. They won't miss a beat. The minions will continue working and there will always be a line waiting to take someone's place.

This is a good point. I didn't think of it like that.

I hope I'm healthy enough to survive the infection and see how this thing plays out.

That was the thing that made the 'Spanish' flu so deadly... it over-stimulated the person's immune system so the healthier you were, the worse your own immune system reacted and the worse the symptoms were.

That's what was so strange about that epidemic, it killed the healthy and left the old, young and weak alive.

Flu is more of a threat but this thing is new and new is scary. That being said I don’t want either virus visiting my house.
