The number of confirmed cases is easly limited by the government limiting the number of test kits for the virus. If a hospital has 100 test kits on a given day, that sets the upper limit on how many cases can be "confirmed" at that hospital that day even if there are 10,000 people with symptoms waiting to be tested.

It has been reported that the supply of test kits aren't even 10% of those needed.
Yeah, I'm taking whatever the Chinese government is saying and assuming it is 10x worse.
Weren't they reporting less than a 1,000 infected when it was in the 10's of thousands??

There are some draconian level quarantine laws on the books here in the US. Haven't been used here in decades, but they exist. I first ran into them when one of the livestock diseases was thought to be loose in the US. We were informed that if it showed up on our farm, we would be quarantined for several weeks, and anyone that set foot on our property would have to stay as well, vet, delivery man, neighbor, etc. AHJ was the US Dept Agriculture. They were not playing.

If this shapes up as a real bad event, this will happen here, and will be very severe. Expect martial law, suspension of constitutional rights, etc.

If that happens I wonder what gov will throw into the mix in order to take full advantage of the crisis? Pretty sure i know what Virginia will do.

Absolutely agree with this..

And also... If someone dies from the "flu" and they were never tested for Coronavirus, it was the Flu, not Coronavirus...

But if you are interested in the "reported" numbers...
