I found some Speer Gold Dot 90 gr. jacketed hollow points that are said to be good defense rounds. I can get them for 25 per 50 which is a lot better sounding. They also have Speer Jacketed Hollow points 159 per 650 but they aren't gold dots. Anyway 50 bucks per 100 is a lot more in line with what I am looking for. Those launched at 3,000 fps ought to get her done!
