cost for loft addition to new metal building?

Good morning folks. We just had put up an enclosed tube-frame metal building on our property. We would like to add a loft for storage on one end.

Building is new and empty, easy access, with garage door, lights and electric.

Dimensions would be 8' x 40', about 80" high. Planned as unpainted, with a set of functional stairs at one end (subtracting from the 8 x 40 above), and low rail along the front.

First quote came in materials $3300 labor $3300 total.

Is this competitive? Is there better?

Serious insight and opinions are welcome.

Quick Alabama math it looks ok. I use the materials = labor as a guide line when pricing my projects.

There’s probably several hundred dollars there to discount can’t discount material but you can always ask for a discount of labor!

subscribed......building a shop next year and a loft was an idea from the start.

At 80” tall you won’t have much height under it for lighting.
