Cowboy Coffee as the sun goes down

I like percolater coffee. We have a stove top model that we ain't used yet. My wife has the same pot you used in these pics.Admittedly she's more hardcore and less citified than me. But we both like dark roast strong coffee. She puts creamer in hers but I like mine black and bitter like Barack.
When I looked at the pics it seemed like you were missing like the upper basket of your pot and you would wind up drinking a lot of grounds. Maybe I missed something. I am about 5 Bud Ices in.

No percolater on the Stanley pot.

In true cowboy fashion, you toss the coffee in the boiling water and drink your way to the bottom.

But I used the lid as a strainer to leave 'most' of the grounds behind when I pour the brew to a second (not so hot to burn my lips off) cup.

So tonight, woods are wet. Coffee option 2
Just built this gassifier one quart stove. (Thanks Survivor Johnny Survivor Johnny )

I used a 3.5" x 2.5" piece of pine split down to sticks to bring 16 oz. of water to an 'almost' rolling boil.
I drank the first cup of coffee with the pot left over the coals. When I was ready for the second cup, the wood was gone!

I like the idea of getting the job done with as little resources as possible. This fits the bill.
Gloves are recommended, this bad boy gets hot!
Just a little smoke at startup until it gets going.

Not sure what that is or if there is any room left in it for coffee!

I roast my own from green beans. Tonights' selection was a single source from Rwanda. (really)
I can dig that. I've had a coffee bean grinder since the 90s. I really like being able to take fresh beans and grind them from coarse all the way down to powder fine espresso grind. Good espresso will make your hair stand up.
Funny thing is that when I do got to a Starbucks there's all these damn nerds in there ordering complicated ****. So the employees have to get their names and make them wait. Me,I just ask "What's the strongest **** you got ready right now?" And when they tell me I just go " Okay give me that." $2.10 later I'm on my way.
