So the boss and I sold our home in March we are leasing for now. We are trying to find what she wants in a specific locale (almost impossible.)
We looked at a 55 plus community nearby , thinking , well its not bad and seems like its a popular concept.

She visited with today with our realtor.

So I am in shock.

The addition for an unfinished basement (over slab) is $107,000.00

In total with the options she wanted........ $904,000 for 2600 sqft (plus unfinished basement)

10' roughly between homes

WTF did I fall into a time warp?

I'm sorry. I could've told you. Built homes for 40yrs. I tried to tell my Brother in Law before they sold their $600k home. Then they bought some land in North Georgia. They were shocked what it would cost to build a new home. They wound up buying an older place across the street from their land. It took them a few years before they could build. Then they had to settle without a basement. Their old home was 4500sq. ft. The older home was 1700sq. ft.

this is true

If I can get wife to agree to build at the farm , that land is paid for and would be great

We sold in 2019 after 17 years , made little now same house would be 2x
Crazy ! That you can’t build a 1500 square-foot ranch style home with nothing elaborate! For less than!$300 crazy
