I'm thinking of having the barrel of my .308 cut to 14.7" re-crowned, threaded and a AAC Brakeout pinned and welded. What would something like this run and who would you recommend?
Cut, pin and weld?

Why not just 16" and threaded? A lot less hassle. The "welding" part can be tricky when dealing with a firearm barrel.
