So I bought a CZ Shadow 2 Nitride only edition (no polycoat) when they first came out in early 2017. I've never fired it and it's been in the safe ever since. I've tossed around the idea of maybe selling it but have never seen another one for sale and would first like to get an idea of the interest people would have in it. I've looked every place I can think of to see how many where imported to the US (even asked a CZ rep who had no idea the gun existed) and the only number I could find was someone saying that it was "around 50 nitride only" that came in. If anyone has more information it would be very appreciated.

This is the CZ SKU: 91256

Nitride is what is under the gray poly coat ones. Yours is normally referred to black/blue Shadow 2. Black frame, blue grips. Urban Gray ones have black grips. You need to shoot it and see what the fuss is about. These will out shoot you about any day with any ammo you use. Makes us old guys look good.

This is not the "Black & Blue" model. This was out a year or so before that one. I have a few CZs and know about the Polycoat on top of the Nitride. This model does not have the polycoat top coat only the Nitride. They only produced these for the first run and stoped because it was taking to much time to go through all the frames to find ones that didn't have any machining marks. The Polycoat covers any marks left by the machining process so they can be made much faster.

If you look at the photo you can se the polycoat around the numbers and no polycoat around the one on the right.

I've found a link that still show this SKU. If you look you'll see no where does it call it the "Black & Blue" and the SKU for the Black&Blue is different (91257).

The one you have isn’t more valuable than any other S2...... if that’s what you are wondering
To someone who collects CZs, having a rare variation could be very valuable. To you? Maybe not.
How could you know what it's worth when you don't even know what it is?

The first link is to the one I have.
DISCONTINUED / LIMITED PRODUCTION
Discontinued 2017. Notice in the description "A hardy nitride finish coats the entire pistol, leaving it nearly impervious to corrosion. Thin blue aluminum grips....."

Then on the 2nd link. The description "A hardy nitride coats the entire pistol, leaving it nearly impervious to corrosion, while the frame gets an additional layer of our black Polycoat finish. Thin blue aluminum grips....."

The first doesn't have the Polycoat finish.

Learned something new. I have a gray one and have shot it a lot and also put in a MCarbo spring kit in it not long ago. Either way, these guns are shooters.
