Dash Cam

It is worth thinking about just what you want the cam to do for you.

If the intent is purely for handling accidents, front and rear recording is very useful. Recording video and/or audio inside is something you might want to include, but remember. If you record inside your vehicle, that recording could under certain circumstances be used against you in a court of law.

For example, it could provide evidence that you may have been distracted during driving.

Can it?
It, at least, used to be the case that your device (e.g. recorded GPS) couldn't used against you in Georgia. Even if you present it in your defense (i.e. you could use it to show that you were or were not at a particular location, but it couldn't be used to prove you were speeding). At least that was my impression.

Depends where you are, I'm sure. I know someone in Connecticut who owned a car his son was driving who lost an insurance claim because the son was clearly under the influence of alcohol when he plowed the car into a utility pole.

I'm just reluctant to record information that could harm rather that help in a prosecution against you.

FWIW, I'm no fan of drunken drivers, but I have no problem with them avoiding incriminating themselves.

Garmin

its the most user friendly dashcam, you can easily bluetooth download the videos to your smartphone to show the responding officers.
