Understand. I missed the part about you providing your own oil and filter. Since it was already going up on the lift, not much of a job for them. Don’t think they liked you providing your own stuff and ran up the price
I was on a hunt at Oaky Woods WMA several years ago. Came back to my truck for lunch and found a tire flat. I was running 33s and the spare was a stock tire. I wasn`t looking forwad to a tire change and a trip to town to get it fixed. I came here to hunt. I scratched through my truck tool box, which is full of about everything, and found a plug kit with one plug left. I spotted a thorn stuck in the top of the tire, didn`t even have to look for it. I pulled the thorn, inserted the plug, said a prayer, and hooked up the portable air compressor. I ate my lunch while it pumped up the tire. Took 45 minutes to inflate the 33inch tire, but got me right back in the woods. Since then I`ve never been without a plug kit in each vehicle. Just like the spare key hidden under the vehicle. Saved my butt several times.
Your mayor is my high school football teammate. I used to knock him around in pratice. He was a very good player. He was one of 5 guys with me that could bench over 315. Not bad for 17 year olds. I saw him get knocked a flip. He kicked off after we scored and was watching his ball in the air and a opponent ran 20 yards and hit him while he was standing with his feet together. He got back up and never did that again. We didn't loose a home game my Jr and Senior year. I understand he isn't too good on a cycle. Crashed on the Silver comet trail and broke his leg. Bad break.
I live in the county, I assume you're talking about Sherman Ross. I was borned in Rockmart, but lived in Bartow County on the line of Polk County. I moved to Polk County in 1976. McNabb generally charges less than that. I think an oil change on that model, him furnishing oil and filter is $45.00 if it's not synthetic oil.
Sherman's a good guy. I think $1.00 a year is a deal for mayor. If I move out there I would vote to double his pay. I use to call on J.L. Lester wholesale company 1987 and Eby Brown now thru 2012. I saw Newt Gingrich walking on the sidewalk. He used to teach at my college West Georgia...he and other professors got us to register to vote in Carrollton. 11,000 extra voters we voted in the mayor, chief of police...then the police left students alone. I was walking to my car at Georgia Arms apartments. They were 2 stories and the lot was low in a bowl shape. As a cop was getting out of his car he was between the car door, I was 15 feet away and I saw a full 24 ounce Bud can explode off his head. Ko. The other cops ran to help. I was happy to be leaving. Cops were awful to the students untill we became voters.
I knew a lot of folks who worked there thru the years, but most are way gone. My brother worked there a while, the pay was crap back then. Not sure how old Sherman is, but the last time I saw him he looked old. I went to Plant Bowen in 1980 and retired in 2023.
He got fat from the pictures of the Rossville Alumni golf. I remember calling on the JL lester company. He drove the nicest car on the lot. BMW. They found he embezzled from them. Somehow he was so smart he got hired back or some crazy story.
