Dead Air

Jake - what do you recommend for a 8-9" 300 Blackout SBR (sharing time with a 16" 5.56)? Do I stay short and light with an Omega or Sandman-S, or do I go for the Sandman-L since the barrel is already so short (although I would use this on my 16" gun too...)?

Do you have a favorite between the Sandman-L, Specwar, and SDN-6?

I would go Sandman S for your situation. Works great on 300BLK and 556 while being short. The size difference between the 7" cans and the 9" is very big. The 9" cans on 16"+ guns get long fast.

Of those 3 on the end I like the Sandman L the best.

Thanks Jake. Do you still prefer the Sandman-S to the Omega for 300 Blackout? One thing pulling me in the direction of the Omega is that I also own a Mystic, and with Liberty's HATE ring I would also be able to use the Mystic as a QD can with Silencerco's MAAD mounts.

One of these days I'll make it down to your shop so I can see them in person.

I went to a demo day they had, and they were really nice. The brake/QD is the best, most well thought out that I've seen, not as many as Jake but I was impressed. 556 through the S can was quieter than my longer 30 cal can. I left uncertain whether the L can was even necessary. The are expensive but may be worth it, really nice stuff.

The rimfire can was nice and small also.
