Who else is out in the rain? Been raining pretty steady all morning. Havnt seen a thing in Chattooga county. Looks like tomorrow will be the same.

I was covered up with Does yesterday at 4pm... Hunting the same stand with my bow today. Nothing so far

Managed to stay semi dry, but with the exception of spooking a few that were sleeping in the pine thicket between the road and the WMA property, I didn't see any sign of deer. Oh wait, I did almost step on the gut pile from one I heard shot over there on Sun AM. Getting really frustrated with this season.

Last season my son and I went down the last weekend of rifle season. It was raining when we got there on Friday evening and never stopped. We watched movies all day Saturday and I finally told him they have to eat sometime. We went and sat in a hay barn that afternoon over looking a hay field and food plot. We ended up seeing about 15 deer, a couple big bucks too. At one point, there were probably eight deer eating in the field at once. Stick with it.

went yesterday afternoon and this morning. didn't see a damn thing lol. i hate having to hunt public land. i did scout out a few new spots im hopefully gonna hit Thursday. depending on this weather.

Sorry for the late post. It was hot and humid, but I went to a small tract of land that I have permission to hunt in Douglas County. I set up OTG on a small hardwood lot that bordered a big swamp. Water Oaks were dropping steadily and I jumped deer there on my way in. At 5:05 this doe steps out and makes a B-line for the Water Oaks. I let her tote a 220 grain Cor-Lokt from my 30/06 at 20 yards. Watched her go down-no tracking needed. It's been a slow season for me so this was a true blessing.
Glad to be out there and to be able to put more meat in the freezer
