Deciding between an Alien Gear 3.0 and a Crossbreed Supertuck Horsehide

I love my MTAC. I have sweat through it outside a few times but it's not like my Glock starting rusting over it or anything... so I don't really care. I don't sweat like that on an average day so it's whatever.

My opinion- AG covers their fasteners because they rust. My MTAC fasteners haven't rusted for the over a year I've had it, and I've been out in the rain with it, sweating like a pig in it, etc.

Also Comp-Tac knows how to fully cover a trigger guard, which is something AG has been known to fail at from time to time. Crossbreed is out of the running to me because of those cheesy cross clips. And if I understand correctly, neither of them have adjustable retention, which is something I like (obviously not a need).

Nothing is for free... think about that when you buy an AG. They have to be cutting corners somewhere (or their design and sourcing is just that much better than everyone else... but I have a hard time believing that when they've caught so much flak for not being able to cover a trigger guard).

I picked up an MTAC because of recommendations from here and I'm glad I did ,I love it.

I know it's not one of your choices but don't buy anything without checking out Aegis Armory. Local made and great holsters

I had an Aegis Armory holster, but did not give it enough wear time to form an opinion. I sold off the gun before I really started carrying it. I have a Grizzle holster for a 1911 Commander, and it is a very thin holster, but I love it, because I really do not feel it on me. I am not sure of what type of hide it is made out of, since I bought it used. I hear horsehide is much thinner than cowhide. I am looking for something "thin" and that is why I was eyeballing the Crossbreed because you can get them in horsehide.

I just got an AlienGear 3.0 in the mail for my Glock 43, gonna give it a try.

It's aggravating to me that I have tried a mess of holsters, but I've yet to find "The One". Perhaps it doesn't exist. It's an expensive trail and error lesson to learn what you like vs what you don't.

This search caused me to begin to make my own leather. Still a lot of trial and error

I've had Crossbreed and Aegis and they both are of the same quality! I've had three Aegis holsters if that tells you anything.

Never had a AG holster.
