Deer rifle for my buddy’s wife

My buddy is looking for a good deer rifle for his wife. Preferably something scoped, bolt action in 6mm, 25-06 or 270. Near Newnan. $600 max range.

Get her a 7mm08 Ruger American and it won't break the bank, but great rifle. Then scope it.

I 2nd the ruger American route. I have a American ranch in 7.62×39 that my 12yr old daughter is going to use this upcoming season. 7.62x39 has more than enough power for GA deer, doesn't kick to hard and, until recently, was cheap enough to practice a lot with without hurting the wallet.

I scoped my rem 700 25-06 classic to see how it would do on deer. Shot small buck two inches over front shoulder and never a step, down like dirt. I can take the scope off to make it reasonable and when needs to sell you will get your money back on the classic. It is in my threads.
