Defensive Shotgun

Looking to pick up a 12 gauge pump action defensive shotgun. Only interested in a Remington 870(Police would be of particular interest) or Mossberg 590, 18 inch barrels with either ghost ring or rifle sights. Am not interested in anything that has been heavily modified, tacted out, or has AR stocks.

What about a Mossberg Maverick from Academy sports? Its cheap and a barebones 500 basically but can accept all the upgrades a 500 can. Just a thought!

Yea a 500 with a 18in barrel is pretty much the same as a 590 with a 18in.

Just get the 590 with the 20in barrel and the 8+1 magazine tube.

Looking for a 590 or 879 with an 18 inch barrel for a reason. If I had wanted a 500 I would have place it in my ad, both the 500s and Mavericks I have had fail under hard use.

Adventure Outdoors had a bunch of police turnin S&W 3000's if I remember right for $300 last week. Not sure on barrel length, but all had rifle sights.

Adventure Outdoors on South Cobb. They were definitely Smiths. Rifle sights, some speed feed stocks. A lot had the foreend with the flashlight holder built in. Looked like been carried a lot.

Will have to drive up and check them out. Might find a nice one to add to my collection. Still going to look to pick up a 590 or 870 though. Will be out tomorrow looking to see if my local stores have any.
