I'd try a new Cable Modem/Router.
This is a page showing all of the supported Cox Cable modems.

Edit:
These are routers with WiFi. I just looked and Orbi starts around 2k.
Looking at the AS-6000 it's $229 on Amazon. I'd start with that one. Call Cox and make sure they register it and goose it up to the speed you are paying for.

If they don't, AT&T fiber is a very good deal.

Side note, The Technicolor modems are made by what used to be Scientific Atlanta.

i would start with speedtest to hardwire location below. Run it to a newer laptop, not to your older PC
1) hardwire it to your Nighthawk
2) hardwire it to your 6141

if the speed is acceptable off the nighthawk, then try relocating it closer to the middle of the house
