Wow, I also would not expect this from a mature adult. Unfortunately, I have encountered this before... I just pulled off to the left shoulder and parked until they left. I actually pulled out a book to read.

best thing to do is try not to engage. who knows what his problem was, maybe he had a herpes flare up er something
i do my best just to get out of the way when i drive. the less people on the road=less traffic. i look ahead and plan ahead if i can. planning ahead means anticipating which lane you are supposed to be in well before and accounting for other idiots on the road
i dont think demographics have to do with it. ****ty drivers can be a 50 year old black woman or a 20 year old douchey white kid

I had this happen to me once about 10 years ago on a drive to Augusta.
It was late at night and the car next to me (Nissan Altima) was pacing me and it was really freaking me out.
Didn't matter the speed or brakes, the guy was right next to me.
I just decided to hammer the gas and if I was pulled over explain myself. Thankfully I had a little "umph" under the hood in my Grand Prix GTP (supercharged).
He tried to keep up but couldn't. I took a sharp turn on to Bobby Jones and never saw the dick nugget again.

I tend to think of myself as a bit restrained when it comes to violence. This incident just about pushed me over the edge this morning.
I've been there. But not for that much of a distance. And never had anyone try to force me im to oncoming traffic. I definitely wouldn't have came to a stop either. And at the point you try face me into oncoming traffic is the point I push you in the ditch.
Sounds like he was a peckerhead with nothing else to do. I tell ya, that would get my temper up for sure. At the point he wouldn't let you back in the lane, he is trying to get you killed, IMO. At that time....all bets are off.
