Scary encounter. Glad everything worked out ok.

Yeah, as has been said, they won't let you back over, they are putting you in harms way.

Scariest one I had was in my Triumph TR-6. Driving one summer night with the top down and a laser dot starts bouncing around off the rearview mirror. May well have been a laser pointer, but who knows. I'm on a rural two lane and speed up. Car behind me increases speed too. Now I'm concerned. A TR-6 is basically a 6 cylinder, dual carb go-cart. Very maneuverable at high speed. I took a last second right onto an intersecting road at about 65 mph. Guy behind me was stupid enough to try and follow. Don't know what he was driving...I only saw the dirt, dust and rolling headlights when he flipped over in the ditch.

it happened to me once, i had been driving for a long time. returning from a hunting trip. there were 3 of us in the truck and all were carrying. sis-n-law was asleep but brother was awake, i just told him to hold on. I ran the guy off into the median, after that he stayed back about a mile.

Sounds like he was a peckerhead with nothing else to do. I tell ya, that would get my temper up for sure. At the point he wouldn't let you back in the lane, he is trying to get you killed, IMO. At that time....all bets are off.

Yep, shots would have been fired

I wonder what I can accomplish with these???

Honestly, man. I think the best thing you can do is not put yourself back in that situation again. Going out and trying to seek this guy out might lead to a confrontation. As it is you already had to pull your pistol out once. You don't want to have to use it if there is a next time. Getting his license plate now is not going to serve any purpose because if you call the cops it is your word against his. Nothing will come of it. I really think the best thing you can do here is a take a deep breath and let this go. Not trying to tell you what to do or anything, just offering some free advice. I would really hate to read about how one of the ODTers here got hurt or killed or had to hurt or kill someone else and now is facing the justice system. Just sayin.

That being said, having camera's in your car is not a bad idea. The Gopro's are nice but there are some really inexpensive options that are tailored for just such a purpose. Not only would it help if a situation like this ever happens again, but if you are ever in an accident or you get a ticket you might be able to argue you are not at fault. Some insurance companies offer discounts if you have a camera in your car as well. You can buy two of these for about $130 and have enough coverage for both the front and back. http://www.amazon.com/Black-Box-Ori...=UTF8&qid=1411508106&sr=8-1&keywords=dash+cam

There are even better options that include GPS tracking, remote viewing and the ability stream your recordings wireless to your cloud. These cost quite a bit more though.

This morning on my way to work at about 7:45am, a darker red Ford F150 was driving too slow on highway 136 through the national forest south of Villanow GA, approaching the Shooting Range. I waited patiently for a clear stretch of highway, put my blinker on and pressed the gas to pass him. When I got beside him, he sped up and paced me for over a mile and a half or more. It didn't matter whether I tried to speed up or slow down, he would not allow me to get back in my lane. I was driving a basic 4 cylinder car. He had a V8 engine. I really couldn't outmaneuver him.

He had a 1999-2006 Ford F-150. No scratches or dents that I noticed, decent paint. Red to Maroon. Single Cab. Driver was a white male with dark hair going gray. I suspect he was between 50 and 60 years of age. His face was expressionless, soul-less. I didn't get his tag number.

The only thing I could think of was to slam on the brakes. When I did that, he countered. I finally decided to take out my pistol for my own safety. I eventually decided to swerve over to the side of his shiny truck. My car is not the best looking car and the scratch seemed worth it to me to get him to back down as I was approaching some other cars. When I swerved right into his lane, he decided to back off and let me pass. I am a pretty decent person but he was pushing me toward oncoming traffic and I was starting to feel panicked. I guess I could have come to a complete stop but I felt if I did, there would be a physical altercation. Sure, I was armed as always but what if he was also?

Who else has experienced this level of Douchebaggery? Tell me about it... Have you ever done this to someone else? I might expect this from the average Joe Dirt White Trash or young punk but a 55 year old guy? Really?

Has it ever crossed these people's mind that they might end up dead in a ditch from either a wrecked car or from being shot by a scared driver like myself?

WTF is wrong with people?

Had you had a dashcam you could have gotten it all on video, including his tag number. That is my main reason. I have gotten cut off too many times lately and want to record their plate numbers.
