I had an RWS Diana model 36 (Made in West Germany!) that I bought used 20 years ago and used occasionally for 17 of those years. Then the piston went bad, and I sent it to the factory for repairs. RWS replaced the whole piston assembly for free under warranty! Yeah, RWS cost more than cheap Chinese or Spanish made knock offs, but the customer service in my experience makes it all worthwhile.
P.S. my gun wasn't perfect, however. It always had significant misalignment between the barrel and the receiver which meant that in order to sight-in any scope on it, I had to turn the scope's windage adjustment as far to one side as it could go.
Think of it as "barrel droop" but on the horizontal plane, not vertical.
