Did Mikhail Kalashnikov 'borrow' ideas from Browning?

Something about this rifle is.....familiar

Browning's Remington Model 8, from 1906

This is the first time I've seen the Model 8. I have to say the receiver setup looks alot like a rude AK. Check out that safety lever. I know Kalashnikov stole ideas from German rifles but this is the earliest model I've seen that has features that the AK shares.
 
Browning was the Tesla of firearms and munitions...everyone stole from him.

This. Mr K took ideas from many other guns and made the best rifle ever made. The original Ak he made looks nothing like the finish product. Im sure the wheel was invented before the car. Many great ideas mixed together can make something that will forever have a top seat in the world we live in....
