Do NOT buy USPS money orders!

Another reason to do everything by credit card nowadays.
If you're dealing with individuals that's rarely an option. The reason USPS money orders have been preferred for many years is that fraud involving them is a federal crime and in the past the USPS have gone after and prosecuted those cases.

I've no idea if that's still the case, but that's why people have specified them in the past.

Now, how you deliver them is another matter entirely......

Can you buy a USPS money order with a credit card? Because then when they lose it you can file a dispute with the card company when USPS drags their feet.

Nope. They only take cash or debit card. Maybe a check or something, not sure but they don't take credit cards.

Lol, because they know how incompetent they are and how fast a card company will turn that charge around.
Nobody in there right mind would accept a credit card for a check that can be cashed. That's just dumb and would open the door for all kinds of fraud.

Nobody takes credit cards for cashier checks either or other types of money orders either. Walmart, money gram, western Union, none of them take Credit cards for money orders for obvious reasons.

I've shipped and received hundreds of USPS money orders, if not thousands and have never had an issue.

OP's problem is he's trying to fight with dumb asses at the post office instead of simply following the protocols for dispute online.
Probably made himself a bigger headache than necessary.

oh, I see. You can tell I'm an honest person for not realizing that.

I have sent and received thousands of USPS MO. For years on Ebay that was the about the only way I got paid. Never has an issue. Most of the bank drawn MOs I received the bank here would put a 3 day hold on until it cleared.

So it sounds like if someone requires a USPS money order you should send it FedEx?

Honestly, we had great USPS service here in GA until they tried to 'improve the efficiency' by opening that new center in South GA and routing all the mail though it. I used to get in-state mail in a day sometimes before this.
Fedex threw one of mine IN THE STREET in front of the mailbox. I found it just before the rain moved it to the drain prior to dumping it in the creek.
