Bought USPS money order on May 17th and mailed it to NH to pay for a GunBroker item. Fast forward to today. It still hasn't showed up. I already paid for the item with Venmo. I checked it one last time today and it shows "Sold but not cashed".
Okay the rules (heavily in THEIR favor) state that you have to wait 60 days for a refund. AND...at the 90 day mark it's null and void and no good to anyone. The affirmative action bitches at the Perry Post Office gave me an 800 number last week that went nowhere and you can't talk to a real human no matter what. So today I go back one more time since it's well past the 60 day point. They refused to refund it or issue a new money order that I could deposit at my bank. Then...they told me to "Open and Inquiry". Okay let's do that. Then after treating me like I'm a scammer and copying my license they want ME to pay THEM ANOTHER ****in $20.15 for them to do the enquiry! And then I would have to wait for THEM to MAIL me my refund which they have already proven they can't be trusted to do.
I have bought and mailed lots of USPS money orders over the recent years. And I bought them because it's the gubment, right? So there's gotta be a certain level of security involved, right? Well obviously not. So if you're still not tech oriented like me or you don't want third party payment apps in your bidness and still buy/use money orders just save yourself time and aggravation and get them at Walmart or friggin Circle K.

I’ve lost money orders before. It takes time. It isn’t a check. They have to give it enough time to make sure it was not cashed.

I wouldn’t do an inquiry. Waste of money. You just have to wait

Well it doesn't matter. The postal employees flat refused to issue me a refund or a new money order in the same amount. And in less than a month it will be useless paper wherever it wound up.
They basically told me I have NO recourse and no options. They got my money and have no intention of giving it back.

That's bull crap. I would check into that, I think there is a recourse action. I would not put it past the one who issued it to intercept it when you mailed it and cash it.

well all knew in May that the PO was having HUGE problems here in GA. Why anyone would mail a check, cash or MO is beyond belief!!!
Well that's about when I bought and mailed it. Middle of May. I should have put it in a priority envelope or something I could get tracking info on. But I had previously done that on one going to Illinois and it got lost too. In fact I paid $6.00 extra to send it certified. And they only managed to find that one once I opened a case on it. Matter of fact they found it the SAME day and called to tell me. Not suspicious at all huh?
