Do you want to end comments in the classifieds?

Respectfully, I totally disagree with your post. The only jackwads I see are the ones who want to decide what is best for others. Why is it so hard to let another member decide what price is correct, what he/she should buy, or what he/she should not buy? Keeping people honest, really? You honestly believe that profit was not made on this site before the present day panic? You believe that since you cannot post negative comments in another members ad, it will lead to posting negative PMs to that member? Do you really send negative PMs to other members because you don't like their price? Why? As for feedback, since you are not a buyer, there would be no feedback to leave. Your opinion of the price of an item is just that, your opinion. I do have a suggestion for you, find me one post started by a disgruntled buyer who was upset at the price he paid. All I ever see are non-buyers upset at pricing. Check the feedback score on the member who sold the item that you felt was a too high price. Someone must have liked the item enough to pay the price that you did not like.

I can understand what you are trying to say, however the comments in an ad (positive or negative) can be informative to the seller and aide them in deciding what price THEY choose to list an item for. Disabling the comments would just provide a blanket of security for someone that would otherwise face constructive criticism.

As far as the mention of negative PMs if comments are disabled. If that does not become a trend, something else will. This site is full of passionate people with an opinion. It has been shown repeatedly that through more rules, people evolve their way of voicing their opinion. Today for example, members received infractions for mentioning they rated the ad.

People will continue to voice their opinion and will evolve as they have to find new was to make that happen. It just makes more work for everyone trying to maintain civility. More rules= more infractions= more moderators= larger # of subjective interpretation and enforcement.

How does one come up with a panic price sheet. I know an sks is not worth my time much less my money but some are still new to this. Do we just let them wander to the 800 dollars sks and then go to wal mart and get some tula to sell them for 300 because they dont know any better. There are alot of new members buying stuff for the first time because of the fear of losing the ability to do so. On the other side there are alot of new members on here to keep you from being able to buy something from a retailer just to try and charge you double on here. It offends me but i do not chime in on thier threads because i dont need thier stuff i was prepared for this.

I don't think anyone is really pissed about prices, they're pissed about the guys who have 30 ammo ads up a month with the walmart tags still on them. I gladly endorse ****ing with the ammo scalpers on here who are trying to make a fist full of cash by sitting at walmart before anyone else can.

The best part is that it is painfully obvious. we have gotten to the point that we literally have one guys name turned into a joke he is selling so many Nib guns and new ammo.

I just hope this site isn't attempting to go out of its way to make the scalpers have an easier time. Stadiums bust scalpers close to the gates, I don't see why we shouldn't bust scalpers here.

It may have already been said in the past 12 pages and I possibly missed it, but if comments were not allowed, there would not be any "I'll take it" seen

Agreed!

p.s. I know you are not asking for opinions or suggestions, but what if you made it so you have to have 50-100 posts and 1 month on the board before you can post For Sale threads. I know both of the computer forums I buy and sell nerdy stuff at all required both of those I just mentioned. This will help with the NEWB coming on here and posting up items for sale with his first post. Again, just my .02.

So, we can't complain about prices/flippers in their threads. I got that.

But, what about those who want to create their own threads to complain? Will they be protected from the "Free-Market Freedom Fighters" chastising them or will they just have to endure?

Go for it. You'll get a few "dead horse" comments, as it's become a tired thread topic. No call-outs by name, though.

Been discussed before. This site was started specifically for buying/trading/selling. It wouldn't make sense to have a probationary period before you could buy/sell/trade on a buy/sell/trade forum.
