Do you want to end comments in the classifieds?

Been discussed before. This site was started specifically for buying/trading/selling. It wouldn't make sense to have a probationary period before you could buy/sell/trade on a buy/sell/trade forum.

This ^^^
Posting count rules are stupid anyway. It also eliminates any chance of a one time seller
liquidating items at reasonable prices.

A better option at this point might be to add a F/S forum for guns & ammo priced UNDER msrp. ;) hehe

I understand this is Steve's site and continue to do what you want Steve. I love it here. I wouldn't be a supporter if I didn't.

But to you "free market Capitalist" types I have one question: Do you ever complain about the prices of other things (food, gas)? "Capitalism is all about complaining. Some people on here know that I have a business. And I know others do as well. Do people complain about prices? Um, yeah. And I would bet some people lower their prices just to get business.

So if you think complaining about prices is "anti-capitalist obamanomic Socialism" you're the idiots. Get out of the cubicle and start your own business and see if you have to deal with price complaints. Or is half your customer base "anti-capitalist obamanomic Socialists" (I'm sure some think so. They just don't see it in themselves when they ***** about the price of gas)?

By all means, you're free to decline business with whomever you please.

can I start an offical "rate this ad" thread where people can link especially good or bad prices?

yes because stopping scalping is just like retailers pricing.

I have been warned before about posting a link to someone else' ad along with a negative comment- even in a discussion thread. So, I doubt it could fly.

Go for it. You'll get a few "dead horse" comments, as it's become a tired thread topic. No call-outs by name, though.

I've seen several where people were dogged for their opinion.

I started (1) topic about a month ago. My one and only topic about flippers and got barraged by several that didn't agree with me. I still see it almost everyday. How's that saying go? "What's good for the goose, is good for the gander."

If we're gonna stop people from voicing their opinion, why don't we just shut down the forum all together? Just keep it buy/sell/trade.

BTW, I'm not looking at this from a gouger perspective or a complainer perspective. I see it as Green Panther said earlier. People are going to voice their opinions regardless. People need to toughen up and get over it or go pound sand.

I don't like the scalping. I think it hurts us all. And I understand Steve wants none of it. But there are these "awesome Patriots" that think it is anti-capitalist to complain about pricing. They're hypocritical jack wagons!

My Dad always said "If you don't have anything good to say then don't say anything at all."
An opinion given respectfully is not positive or negative, it's informative. You don't have to be an ass while expressing yourself about the item being sold. If you want to be an ass about the OP then start a new thread.
If the poster is doing something problematic then report him.
