Does anyone have a recommendation for a tracking dog service to recover a deer in Cherokee County? I hate it, but I rushed a shot on a nice buck. He laid down for about 15mins where I could see him. He laid his head over, so I went to get field dressing supplies. I came back, and he was gone. Blood trail vanished shortly from where he laid down.

It was a quartering shot, and in the heat of the moment, I forgot to move point of aim back to compensate for that. I'm fairly confident I got lung and that he didn't go very far. The spot he laid down in was less than 10yds from where I shot him. He stood for about 10mins on wobbly legs, laid down, laid his head on its side, raised it up once, and laid it back down. I watched his chest and could see him taking rapid, short breaths right before laying his head down that last time. That's when I turned and went away.

Were you out of bullets good bucks don’t hesitate to put another in him. Don’t assume he’s gonna die make sure.
