Dont Feed Corn

Thread title should be "Don't Feed Corn Short Term".

If you introduce it when other food sources are available so they have a chance to develop the stomach flora to digest it and then keep feeding it, it's a great source of nutrition and energy for deer. Deer that have a steady and regular source of corn are some of the biggest and healthiest in the world. Think Kansas.

I've been putting out 50lbs every three to five days for a couple of years now. I have no skinny deer here.

I get the impression from the article that this is only really relevant in northern states that don't have green plants available year round.
 
I would guess that someone poured 100 lbs of corn out to deer who were super hungry they ate most or all and , dead.

I use spinner feeders so its not leaving so much that they are likely to gorge.
