Don't spend your only living days working only to die 1 or 2 yrs after retirement.

I worked like a dog to hopefully retire at 50, had a heart attack at 39. Got laid off at 46. The dems were in office and I watched my life savings loose about 1/3. My cost of living went up 400% due mostly to medical. I wound up going back to work for another 8yrs, the same length of time they were in office. I wasn't looking to retire as long as I enjoyed what I was doing. Then again lost my job and Covid hit. I only got a small amount of 3 pensions I was supposed to get. Been staying home the last 4 1/2 yrs to save money. So far so good. Been waiting for things to get well enough to start enjoying retirement. At least I haven't had to go back to work and my health has greatly improved
The stress on today's workplace is staggering. God didn't make us to endure such nonsense. Hard work yes but ungodly stress I think not. It's one thing to work 12 hours a day because you have to to keep your family going. It's different to have to work 12 hours a day in a stress filled, rear end bosses and piers and everything else you can imagine you go through IS NOT how it's supposed to be!

I turned 65 last month. I applied for Medicare and Social Security on my birthday. I stopped working about 3 years ago. Today I received my first social security payment.

I spend my days either flying, or working on one of my aircraft. Hopefully I get in many more years.

I wish every ODT’r outlasts the predictions. Statistically the average american retires. Grabs a beer and the remote, and dies a year later.

Stay busy! Stay mentally active! Live in front of the TV and your family will bury you soon enough.
So true! That’s why at 75 I’m still working.

Yeah join the Armed Forces and get killed at 21. It's much, much easier than working all your life! 🤣 I didn't bother to watch the video clip. I imagine it's a sales pitch of epic proportions!
It's actually not a sales pitch for the military but uses them as the background for the song.

Was lucky enough to retire last year at 58. I work harder now that I’m home thanks to the wife’s honey do lists. I can’t wait for her to retire so I can return the “favor”. :becky:
We think the slaves had it bad. They ain't got nothing when the old lady starts ragging about things to do! They're the worst and expected all to be done in a day! I am glad I'm single now and at 57 I'm not looking! If a woman ever enters my life there's going to be some very simple rules laid down at the beginning. There will be no bargaining, negotiating or gray areas! It's my way or the highway. Of course I keep my little humble abode clean and neat all the time. I guess it was when my mother used to beat me to death over cleaning my room. The terror keeps me from letting it get dirty and messy.

I was camping one time and a guy was telling me how much he liked to read. He said he did it all the time and just couldn't get enough of it. Then I walked into his house and understood exactly why the place was so filthy. I mean that place should have been condemned and he's sitting on the couch reading. What a dumbass!
