Drilling into hard metals

Has anyone tried this method??

I'v used a masonry drill on hard stuff before, but I don't get why he dulled the carbide on the drill with a regular grinding wheel. Carbide don't sharpen unless it's diamond or a green wheel

And yeah, I've done this. Specifically with pistol magazines to get rid of the 'bulge' that gets put in 10-round mags. Cobalt drills won't cut Mec Gar mags

yes, but by changing the geometry (cutting angle) did he not change it into a cutting / shearing hard metal cutting bit? 'Looks feasible'
